Hickory is 10-0 against Newton-Conover since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. Having just played yesterday, the Hickory Red Tornadoes will jump right back in to play the Newton-Conover Red Devils at 7:30 p.m. Hickory is looking to tack on another W to their 13-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Hickory scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Wednesday. They claimed a resounding 82-47 victory over Bunker Hill on the road. Considering Hickory has won three contests by more than 32 points this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.
Hickory's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jamien Little, who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Little has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zane Krenzel, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Newton-Conover was able to grind out a solid win over South Caldwell on Wednesday, taking the game 57-47. The win made it back-to-back wins for Newton-Conover.
Hickory's win bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Newton-Conover, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Hickory strolled past Newton-Conover in their previous meeting on December 12th by a score of 81-62. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hickory since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
