Biggs has gone 8-2 against Chester recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Biggs Wolverines will take on the Chester Volcanoes in a tournament on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Biggs 3.6, Chester 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.
While Biggs' win against Durham wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Biggs skirted past Durham 3-1. The victory continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Trojans: they've now won six in a row.

Gracie Sheppard spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Arden Vines, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. She is also on a roll when it comes to triples, as she's now hit at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Mailey Seipert, who scored a run while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Chester gave up the first runs last Thursday, but they didn't let that get them down. They were the clear victor by a 14-3 margin over Princeton. The result was nothing new for the Volcanoes, who have now won three contests by 11 runs or more so far this season.
Jenna Schlueter made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. Schlueter was even better at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5. She also put up a triple, which was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Nancy Christianson and Kylie Kistle did most of the damage at the plate: Christianson scored three runs while going 3-for-5, while Kistle scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4. That's the most runs Christianson has posted since back in March of 2024. Sarah Branch was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her five plate appearances.
Chester kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Princeton only managed five hits.
The win made it two in a row for Chester and bumps their season record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Biggs, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Biggs has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Chester struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Biggs' way against Chester in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, as Biggs made off with a 12-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Biggs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
