It was a good run, but Marlboro County unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Saturday. They lost 71-46 to the Crestwood Knights. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their loss to the Knights from their previous meeting back in January.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Justin Purvis, who posted eight points. Purvis is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Cameron Smith was another key player, putting up seven points.

Marlboro County's defeat dropped their record down to 8-2. As for Crestwood, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 11-0.

Marlboro County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against South Florence at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday. Marlboro County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 57.1 points per game this season. As for Crestwood, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll take on Atlantic Collegiate Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Sunday.
