Basketball Recap: Philadelphia Academy Charter Triumphs

On Tuesday, the Philadelphia Academy Charter Chargers were able to grind out a solid victory over the Belmont Charter Tigers, taking the game 52-43. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Chargers.

Tahj Wilson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 23 points and 12 boards. He has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more rebounds the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Benzenahfer, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards.

Several Tigers players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Amir Dominick, who posted 14 points. Zymir Dessus was another key player, putting up ten points.

Philadelphia Academy Charter is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Belmont Charter, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-4.

Philadelphia Academy Charter wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 50-44 win against Kensington on the 16th. Belmont Charter has also already played their next contest, a 64-40 victory against Sayre on the 15th.
