The Barr-Reeve Vikings will be home for the holidays to greet the Vincennes Lincoln Alices at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Barr-Reeve struggled with assists on Saturday (Paoli had eight more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Barr-Reeve took a 37-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Paoli. Barr-Reeve has struggled against Paoli recently, as their matchup on Saturday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Liv Emmons, who scored 12 points. She scored a full 37.5% of Barr-Reeve's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Willow Thompson, who scored ten points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-39, which was the final score in Vincennes Lincoln's tilt against Evansville Memorial last Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Vincennes Lincoln can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 224th, while Evansville Memorial is ranked 26th).
Barr-Reeve's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 5-7. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.0 points per game. As for Vincennes Lincoln, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-7.
