Woodlan is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They put the hurt on Bluffton with a sharp 13-2 win. Considering the Warriors have won 14 games by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Sophia Martin looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off six hits. What's more, she posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in May of 2024.
At the plate, Victoria Crozier was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Harvey, who got on base in two of her four plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Fort Wayne Bishop Luers came up short against Prairie Heights on Saturday and fell 7-3.
Julia Spoltman and Kaylee Dennis stepped up to the plate in a big way. Spoltman went 1-for-4 with three stolen bases and one run, while Dennis went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
Woodlan is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That somehow still isn't as good as their 23-5 record this season. As for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-15 record this season.
Fort Wayne Bishop Luers' pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Woodlan has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12.6 hits per game. It's a different story for Fort Wayne Bishop Luers, though, as they've been averaging 8.8 hits. Given Woodlan's sizable advantage in that area, the Knights will need to find a way to close that gap.
