The Alpha Omega Academy Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Northland Christian Cougars at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Alpha Omega Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Friday.
Last Friday, Alpha Omega Academy was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 42-38 to Westbury Christian. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Alpha Omega Academy in their matchups with Westbury Christian: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the loss, Alpha Omega Academy had strong showings from Maddie Wallace, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds, and Kathryn Peach, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Peach hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games.
Northland Christian suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Friday. They took a serious blow against Lutheran North, falling 63-28.
Alpha Omega Academy has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Northland Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
Alpha Omega Academy couldn't quite finish off Northland Christian in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 and fell 37-34. Can Alpha Omega Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
