Baseball Recap: Florence Takes a Loss

Florence lost to St. Mary back in May of 2025 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Huskies lost 15-9 to the Pirates. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brynnen Lambert and Finn Phillips did some serious damage despite the final result: Lambert got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Phillips went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. Florence is 5-2 when Lambert posts two or more runs, but 1-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Davin Yates, who went 1-for-4 with four RBI.

Florence's record is now 6-12. As for St. Mary's, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-11.

While Florence had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
