The Savannah Savages were the 28-13 winner over the St. Pius X Warriors when they last played one another back in October of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Savannah was the victim of a rough 34-13 defeat at the hands of St. Pius X on Friday. Savannah has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite the loss, Savannah had strong showings from Cade Chappell, who rushed for 140 yards and a touchdown, and Kaden Calloway, who gained 102 total yards and a touchdown. Chappell's longest rush was for an incredible 84 yards.
Even if they lost, Savannah's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Kegan Bechtold and his two sacks.
Savannah's loss dropped their record down to 6-3. As for St. Pius X, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Savannah will be playing in front of their home fans against Lafayette at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lafayette is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. St. Pius X does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
