It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Berkner Rams can now relate to. They were the victim of a rough 42-16 defeat at the hands of Martin on Thursday. Berkner lost against Martin in their previous head to head back in November of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 62-3 score last time.
Martin's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daylon Cobb, who rushed for 156 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Martin also got a significant boost from Brooks Brigance, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 111 yards.
Berkner's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Martin, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-3.
Berkner does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Martin will take on Allen at TBD on Friday. Allen presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Martin in Texas (Allen is ranked 26th, while Martin is ranked 148th).
