Softball Recap: Suncoast's Losing Streak Snapped at Six Games

Suncoast had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past the Leonard Lancers 18-8 on Monday. With that win, the Chargers brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

The team relied heavily on Jenesis Spence, who fired off two home runs, nine RBI, and three runs while going 4-for-4. She also put up two doubles, which were her first of the season. Peyton Williamson was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4.

Spence wasn't the only one making solid contact: Suncoast kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Leonard only managed six hits.

Suncoast picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 2-6. As for Leonard, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-6 record.

Coming up, Suncoast will challenge Glades Central at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Leonard, they will square off against Atlantic Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
