They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 52-32 walloping at the hands of Hill Country Christian School of Austin. While losing is never fun, Axtell can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 839th, while Hill Country Christian School of Austin is ranked 339th).
Despite the loss, Axtell still got an impressive performance from Coldyn Horn, who scored 15 points. Levi Leathers was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
Axtell's defeat dropped their record down to 7-5. As for Hill Country Christian School of Austin, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Axtell will take on Abbott at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hill Country Christian School of Austin, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Holy Cross at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Holy Cross' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three matches.
