This season hasn't been kind to the Nolan Catholic Vikings, who are still winless after their 11th matchup. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 57-34 walloping at the hands of Concordia Lutheran on Friday. The game was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly Nolan Catholic struggled afterwards.
Nolan Catholic's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Carter Devero, who threw for 324 yards and three touchdowns. Jake Werline also helped out as he racked up 177 receiving yards.
Nolan Catholic bumped their record down to 0-11 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 13-1 Dallas Christian and 12-1 Parish Episcopal (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 64.9% over those games). As for Concordia Lutheran, their win bumped their record up to 8-3.
Nolan Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Concordia Lutheran will head out on the road to face off against Bishop Lynch at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
