The Loomis Wolves will venture away from home to challenge the St. Cecilia Bluehawks at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Loomis' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six matchups.
Loomis proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by 58) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 58-55 win over Pleasanton. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wolves have posted since January 8th.

Graham Trompke was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 20 points and 12 boards. Those 20 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Grady Keeshan, who went 5-for-12 en route to 13 points and six rebounds.
Loomis was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They are 12-4 when they've passed the ball that well.
Meanwhile, St. Cecilia was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They lost 58-34 to Grand Island Central Catholic. While losing is never fun, the Bluehawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 187th, while the Crusaders are ranked 22nd).
Loomis will have to keep a close watch on Chase Batterman and Aiden Schieffer, a pair of players who had a big impact on St. Cecilia's prior game. Batterman posted 11 points, while Schieffer earned nine points. Batterman continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played.
Loomis pushed their record up to 13-8 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.6 points over those games. As for St. Cecilia, their loss dropped their record down to 6-15.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Loomis has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 32 boards per game. However, it's not like St. Cecilia struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 25.6 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more basketball content.
