Baseball Recap: Mcdowell Has No Trouble Against Erie

McDowell never let their opponents score on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-0 margin over the Erie Royals. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by seven runs or more this season.

Collin Swick tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Quentin Orlando, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Jake Hower, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

McDowell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .515. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.

McDowell's record now sits at 10-3. As for Erie, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-10.
