Having just played yesterday, Carver High School of Engineering & Science will head out on the road to face off against the Abraham Lincoln Railsplitters at 3:15 p.m. on December 20th. Carver High School of Engineering & Science will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
On Tuesday, Carver High School of Engineering & Science was able to grind out a solid victory over George Washington, taking the game 49-39.
Carver High School of Engineering & Science found their leader in underclassman Fareed Brown, who scored 25 points along with three steals. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Mcfield, who scored nine points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Abraham Lincoln pushed their score all the way to 78 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 90-78 to Math Civics & Sciences. While losing is never fun, Abraham Lincoln can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 355th, while Math Civics & Sciences is ranked 137th).
Despite their defeat, Abraham Lincoln saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Malachi Montgomery, who scored 27 points, was perhaps the best of all. Montgomery continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Samair Peterson was another key contributor, scoring 22 points.
Carver High School of Engineering & Science's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Abraham Lincoln, their loss dropped their record down to 2-5.
Wednesday's matchup is shaping up to be a blowout: Carver High School of Engineering & Science hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 51.7 points per game. It's a different story for Abraham Lincoln, though, as they've been averaging only 59 points per game. The only thing between Carver High School of Engineering & Science and another offensive beatdown is Abraham Lincoln. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Carver High School of Engineering & Science lost to Abraham Lincoln on the road by a decisive 72-57 margin in their previous matchup back in February. Can Carver High School of Engineering & Science avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
