Luling is 2-8 against Marion since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Luling Eagles will be playing in front of their home fans against the Marion Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Luling focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 31 on Tuesday.
Last Tuesday, things could have been worse for Luling, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 36-18 loss to Randolph. Luling has not had much luck with Randolph recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Despite the loss, Luling got a solid performance out of Skylar Dredla, who scored six points along with 13 rebounds and three steals. Dredla hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games.
Marion posted their closest win yet this season on Friday. They skirted past Nixon-Smiley 45-43. The victory was just what Marion needed coming off of a 54-29 loss in their prior matchup.
Luling's loss was their sixth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-16. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 26.5 points per game. As for Marion, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-18.
