The Fort Collins Lambkins scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They really took it to Prairie View for the full four quarters, racking up a 92-46 victory on the road. That 46 points margin sets a new team best for Fort Collins this season.
Jayce King was his usual excellent self, going 8 for 12 from beyond the arc en route to 44 points and 1 assist. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Marcel Herrera, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
When it comes to explaining why Prairie View lost, one person who can't be blamed is Randall Rogos. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with two steals and two blocks. Angel Rodriguez was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Fort Collins now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Prairie View, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-8.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Fort Collins will take on Monarch at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Monarch focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Saturday. Prairie View won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Horizon at 7:00 p.m. on January 20th. Horizon is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 63.4 points per game.
