Romulus is 10-0 against Annapolis since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Romulus Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Annapolis Cougars at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Romulus is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Annapolis in Michigan (Romulus is ranked 122nd, while Annapolis is ranked 337th).
After only 19 points in their last game, Romulus made sure to put some points up on the board against Thurston on Tuesday. Romulus blew past Thurston 70-21 on the road. With Romulus ahead 39-13 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Romulus can attribute much of their success to Karma Jones-Johnson, who scored 15 points along with seven assists and five rebounds, and Samaira Searcy, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Searcy has scored at least 25% of Romulus' points. Another player making a difference was Jad? Jones, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, Annapolis earned a 30-20 win over Robichaud on Tuesday.
Romulus now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Annapolis, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
Everything came up roses for Romulus against Annapolis when the teams last played back in January as the team secured a 60-10 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Romulus since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
