 Pope County's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Lawson Forthman, who  posted eight  points in addition to 13  boards and four  blocks. Forthman is  crushing it when it comes to  rebounds: she's   pulled down at least ten every time she's  taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Bella Fasolo, who  had 14 points.
Pope County's defeat dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Anna-Jonesboro, their victory  ended  an  18-game drought on the road  dating back to last season and  puts them at 8-20.
 Looking ahead, Pope County and Murphysboro will face off  at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. As for Anna-Jonesboro, they will take on Elverado/Zeigler-Royalton at 6:00  p.m.  on Wednesday.
