Takoma Academy came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.5 points), and they left with even more momentum. They took down the King's Christian Academy Eagles 80-65. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 72-43 back in November of 2024.

King's Christian Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Earl B. Edmonds, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and 12 boards. He is also on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 55% in the last four games he's played. Kyle Kovich was another key player, going 8-for-14 en route to 20 points along with six rebounds and four blocks.

Takoma Academy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-13. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.0 points over those games. As for King's Christian Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 8-20.

Takoma Academy and King's Christian Academy are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. Takoma Academy will venture away from home to take on Avalon at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Avalon knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 16 games -- so hopefully Takoma Academy likes a good challenge.
