Fishers entered their tilt with Noblesville on Thursday with seven consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with eight. They came out on top against the Millers by a score of 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 back in March.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-13, 25-16, 25-27, 25-13.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fishers to victory, but perhaps none more so than Davis Theobald, who had five aces and three digs. Those five aces gave Theobald a new career-high. Jack Powell also deserves some recognition as he served his first ace of the season.
They weren't the only good server: Fishers was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Noblesville only served six aces.
Despite the loss, Noblesville had strong showings from Gavin Stewart, who had 14 digs and two assists, and Gael Esqueda, who had ten kills, nine digs, six aces, and two blocks. Esqueda is on a roll when it comes to kills, as he's now had six or more in each of the last ten games he's played.
Fishers' win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-1. As for Noblesville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
Fishers will venture away from home to square off against Carmel at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Noblesville, they will face off against Warsaw at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
