The Jones Trojans will head out on the road to challenge the Calhoun Sandcrabs at 7:35 p.m. on Tuesday. Jones is hoping to put an end to an eight-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Even though West Oso scored an imposing 56 points on Tuesday, Jones still came out on top. Jones walked away with a 64-56 win over West Oso.
Meanwhile, Calhoun's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their tenth straight loss. They were dealt a 74-45 defeat at the hands of West Oso. While losing is never fun, Calhoun can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1556th, while West Oso is ranked 678th).
Jones is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-11 record this season. As for Calhoun, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-16.
Everything came up roses for Jones against Calhoun in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 77-38 victory. Will Jones repeat their success, or does Calhoun have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
