The Northwest Christian School Crusaders and the Chewelah Cougars will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Northwest Christian School's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five games.
Northwest Christian School pushed their score all the way to 58 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 64-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Reardan. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Friday (57), Northwest Christian School still had to take the loss.
Despite their loss, Northwest Christian School saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Asher West, who scored 24 points, was perhaps the best of all. West scored a full 41.4% of Northwest Christian School's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jonah Pope, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Chewelah's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They took a hard 55-37 fall against Davenport. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Chewelah in their matchups with Davenport: they've now lost six in a row.
Northwest Christian School's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Chewelah, they now have a losing record at 3-4.
Everything came up roses for Northwest Christian School against Chewelah when the teams last played last Saturday as the team secured a 75-31 victory. Does Northwest Christian School have another victory up their sleeve, or will Chewelah turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
