The Power Center Academy Knights pushed their score all the way to 64 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 65-64 to Hamilton. It was the first time this season that Power Center Academy let down their fans at home.
Power Center Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marquis Tunstall, who scored 17 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Nazir Allen, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and three blocks.
Devan McGee continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Hamilton, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 12 rebounds. McGee is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last four games he's played. Rodney Mcneal was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Power Center Academy's loss ended a 15-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-6. As for Hamilton, their victory bumped their record up to 7-11.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Kirby the next time they take the court. Hamilton will host Kirby at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Power Center Academy will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
