The Friendship Golden Eagles had to endure a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They managed a 60-54 victory over Lima Christian on Saturday. The victory was just what Friendship needed coming off of a 59-37 defeat in their prior match.
Several Saints players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Abby Britton, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and five blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Britton has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Marsh, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.
Friendship's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Lima Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5.
Friendship will head out on the road to face off against Bolivar-Richburg at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Friendship is coming into the game with four straight victories on the road, so Bolivar-Richburg is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for Lima Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Lima Christian's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter has been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road.
