Warsaw and Tippecanoe Valley are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2015, but likely not for long. The Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tippecanoe Valley took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Warsaw, who comes in off a win.
Last Saturday, Warsaw made easy work of Bellmont and carried off a 14-4 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Tigers.
Brock Bowser looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Kellan Bailey, who fired off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 2-for-3. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Quinton Brock, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Warsaw was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, Tippecanoe Valley had to start their season on the road on Monday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They came up short against Manchester, falling 23-15. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it four in a row.
Hunter Paxton was cooking despite his team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Braxton Alderfer was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-4.
Warsaw pushed their record up to 2-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Tippecanoe Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Warsaw took their win against Tippecanoe Valley in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
