With a playoff game on the line, Granite Bay rose to the challenge on Friday. They came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 3-1. Given Granite Bay's advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 56th, while Patterson is ranked 366th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Bella Vista has not lost a match since January 26th, a trend which continued in their latest game on Friday. They blew past El Capitan 5-0. Bella Vista found success even though the refs didn't miss a thing: three Bella Vista players were handed yellow cards.
Granite Bay's victory bumped their record up to 7-4-4. As for Bella Vista, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2-5 record this season.
Granite Bay beat Bella Vista 3-1 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Granite Bay since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
