On the hitting side, Ryan Stoops was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Stoops is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jason Copeland, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Wadsworth hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Highland struck out ten times.
Meanwhile, Lake didn't have quite enough to beat McKinley on Wednesday and fell 2-1.
McKinley's batters probably weren't too happy with Noah Kubasky, who pitched a no hitter and racked up nine Ks (he gave up three walks).
At the plate, Lake saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Josh Lippe, who went 1-for-2 with one RBI.
The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-4. As for Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 9-6.
Wadsworth came up short against Lake when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 8-4. Can the Grizzlies avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
