Sand Creek won the last time they faced Mitchell and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Scorpions were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Marauders. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Scorpions.

While Sand Creek won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the second set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-22, 25-17.

Sand Creek had a senior duo take command as Avery Thruston had 22 digs and three aces and Yaremi Ramos had nine digs and two aces. Thruston is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 13 or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Sand Creek was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 14 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in four consecutive contests.

Despite the defeat, Mitchell saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Yamileth Villa Vargos had 47 assists.

Sand Creek's victory bumped their record up to 8-14. As for Mitchell, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-17.

Sand Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mitchell, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Lotus School For Excellence on the 29th.
