The Mountain House Mustangs put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They took down Kimball 74-60. Given Mountain House's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while Kimball is ranked 569th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mountain House to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ej Campbell, who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds. The match was Campbell's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Williams, who scored 9 points along with 9 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Kimball lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jaden Ryan. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with 9 rebounds. Ryan scored a full 28.3% of Kimball's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Dawson Pelech, who scored 9 points.
Mountain House's victory bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Kimball, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
Mountain House will take on Menlo-Atherton at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Menlo-Atherton is coming into the contest hot, having won their last three games. As for Kimball, they will square off against Calaveras at 5:15 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Calaveras focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Saturday.
