Football Recap: Tuesday's Win Is Western's Ninth in Last Ten Outings

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Western had no problem doing just that on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Piper Bengals as they made off with a 26-0 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by 20 points or more this season.

Western didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. Ashley Smith led the group effort, picking up two of those interceptions all by herself.

Western has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 6.7 points on average over those games. As for Piper, the defeat snapped their winning streak at five games and leaves them with a 12-4 record.

Coming up, Western will challenge Stoneman Douglas at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. Piper does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
