The Baker Gators suffered their biggest defeat since November 27, 2023 on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 50-30 defeat at the hands of Walton. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Baker of the 32-18 loss they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2023.
Leading Walton to victory were Sophia Parker and Maleaha Johnson. Parker scored 16 points, while Johnson scored 22 points along with three steals. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenzie Lassiter, who scored four points along with six assists and five steals.
Baker's defeat dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Walton, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Baker will take on Destin at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Destin has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 4. As for Walton, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Marianna at 6:30 p.m.
