Juniata Valley hasn't had much luck against Mount Union recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Juniata Valley will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they takes on Mount Union at 4:30 p.m. After the two teams made easy work of their previous opponents, one won't be so lucky on Thursday.
Juniata Valley barely beat Glendale the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Juniata Valley put the hurt on Glendale with a sharp 22-5 victory on Monday.

Kyler Spurlin made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Spurlin was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Ethan Scalia was a standout: he scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Blayne Sager, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Juniata Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Glendale only posted an OBP of .381.
Meanwhile, Mount Union was not the first on the board on Tuesday, but they got there more often. They blew past Northern Bedford County 9-2. The win continues a trend for the Trojans in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won three in a row.
Cody McClain made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. McClain was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.
In other batting news, Julian Weirich was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5. Another player making a difference was Levi Hunsinger, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.
The victory got Juniata Valley back to even at 1-1. As for Mount Union, they now have a winning record of 2-1.
