The Mountain View Academy Mustangs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 55-26 loss at the hands of El Primero. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Mountain View Academy has scored all season.
Mountain View Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Christopher Mercado, who scored seven points along with nine rebounds. Another player making a difference was Daniel Malo, who scored 11 points along with three steals.
El Primero had a senior duo take command as JOSH CHAVEZ dropped a double-double on 20 points and 14 rebounds and RICARDO GARCIA dropped a triple-double on ten points, 14 rebounds, and 11 blocks. CHAVEZ hasn't dropped below two steals for 15 straight games. GUSTAVO MALVAES was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with three steals.
Mountain View Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for El Primero, their win bumped their record up to 5-15.
Mountain View Academy will head out on the road to challenge the Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Valley Baptist will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive. El Primero will take on the Wolfpack at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. KIPP San Jose Collegiate will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
