After flying high against the Edgewood Cougars last Friday, the Bellbrook Golden Eagles came back down to earth. Bellbrook fell 50-37 to Franklin on Friday. Bellbrook was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Franklin apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January.
Carter Black continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Franklin, scoring 20 points. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Kai Cook, who scored 13 points.
Bellbrook's defeat dropped their record down to 2-1. As for Franklin, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bellbrook will face off against Lima Senior at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday. One thing working in Lima Senior's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season. As for Franklin, they will head out on the road to face off against Bishop Fenwick at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Bishop Fenwick presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Franklin in Ohio (Bishop Fenwick is ranked 24th, while Franklin is ranked 320th).
