Basketball Game Preview: Chicago Christian Knights vs. Elmwood Park Tigers

Chicago Christian has gone 9-1 against Elmwood Park recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Chicago Christian Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Elmwood Park Tigers at 7:00 p.m. Chicago Christian will be strutting in after a victory while Elmwood Park will be coming in after a loss.

Chicago Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their game on Saturday with ease, bagging a 66-36 win over Kennedy. Chicago Christian's victory was all the more impressive since the Crusaders were averaging only 29.5 points allowed on the season.

Imani Frazier was nothing short of spectacular: she almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine steals. What's more, she also racked up eight rebounds, the most she's had since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Sydney Harris, who posted eight points and ten boards.

Chicago Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Elmwood Park took a blow against Glenbard South on Friday, falling 57-14. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 548th, while the Raiders are ranked 49th).

Elmwood Park has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 16 of their last 18 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-21 record this season. As for Chicago Christian, they pushed their record up to 14-11 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home.

Chicago Christian didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Elmwood Park when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 44-40 victory.
