The Jones Trojans's 29-5 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 46-37 hit to the loss column at the hands of Midland on Thursday. Jones has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Jones lost, one person who can't be blamed is Shay Gomez. Despite the final result, she scored 10 points along with 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Abby Del Bosque, who scored 8 points along with 7 rebounds.
Jones has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Midland, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jones will take on Winn at 2:40 p.m. on Friday. Winn has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Midland, they will be playing at home against Montgomery at 8:00 a.m. on Friday. Montgomery is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
