Warren Hills Regional and Delaware Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2016, but likely not for long. The Blue Streaks will look to defend their home field on Saturday against the Terriers at 11:00 a.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Warren Hills Regional has struggled recently with four defeats in a row, while Delaware Valley will arrive with seven straight wins.
Thursday just wasn't the day for Warren Hills Regional's offense. They fell 3-0 to The Pingry School on Thursday. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Blue Streaks were not able to get on the board.
Warren Hills Regional saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sienna Cardell, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base. Rilee Ghilon also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, Delaware Valley got themselves on the board against Middlesex on Friday, but Middlesex never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over the Bluejays. The result was nothing new for the Terriers, who have now won three games by 12 runs or more so far this season.
Delaware Valley got a massive performance out of Ava Figalora, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Lindsey Ditmar, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Delaware Valley hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least four batters in five consecutive matches.
Delaware Valley pushed their record up to 7-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.4 runs on average over those games. As for Warren Hills Regional, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4.
Warren Hills Regional took their victory against Delaware Valley in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-3 score. Do the Blue Streaks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Terriers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
