The College Place Hawks were the 50-40 winner over the Toppenish Wildcats when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. College Place was dealt a 74-30 loss at the hands of Toppenish on Saturday. College Place was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 41-12.
Toppenish got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Adelaide Norman out in front who scored nine points along with six rebounds and five steals. Samiah Baker was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
College Place's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Toppenish, their victory bumped their record up to 10-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. College Place will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Naches Valley at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. As for Toppenish, they will take on Connell at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Connell will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Washington Rankings (they are ranked 277th, while Toppenish is ranked 90th).
