Marco Island Academy is 8-2 against Donahue Catholic since February of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. After a string of three wins, Marco Island Academy's good fortune finally ran out. They were beaten by The Village School of Naples 84-53.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Jordan Rodden, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nick Sadler, who scored 17 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, even though Everglades City scored an imposing 59 points on Tuesday, Donahue Catholic still came out on top. Donahue Catholic strolled past Everglades City with points to spare, taking the game 78-59.
Donahue Catholic relied on the efforts of Erling Berg, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and 17 rebounds, and Isaac Loboda, who scored 26 points along with 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Berg is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of John McCabe, who scored 16 points.
Marco Island Academy's loss dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Donahue Catholic, they have yet to lose a contest on the road this season, leaving them with a 4-1 record.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the pair are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Marco Island Academy hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 63.2 points per game. It's a different story for Donahue Catholic, though, as they've been averaging only 66 per game.
