Estrella Foothills put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came within five points of losing the streak, but they secured a 19-14 W against the Westview Knights.
Kade Carroll had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 107 yards and two scores on only 15 carries. Jacob Rawls was another key player, rushing for 57 yards and one TD.
Estrella Foothills didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Shawn Ellison and Carroll.
Several Knights players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Andrew Ibarra, who picked up 104 receiving yards and one touchdown. The team also got some help courtesy of Auggie Lara, who gained 84 total yards and a touchdown.
Estrella Foothills' victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Westview, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Estrella Foothills will take on North Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Westview, they will challenge Buckeye at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
