The Glenn Falcons struggled with offensive rebounds on Tuesday (the South Bend St. Joseph Indians had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Glenn was beaten by South Bend St. Joseph 73-40. While losing is never fun, Glenn can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while South Bend St. Joseph is ranked 81st).
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Carson Krueger, who scored 14 points. Joey Shoue was another key contributor, scoring six points along with six assists.
Glenn struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Chase Konieczny continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for South Bend St. Joseph, scoring 20 points along with five steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Shrewsberry, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Glenn and nudges their season record down to 9-8. As for South Bend St. Joseph, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-7.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Mishawaka Marian the next time they take the court. Glenn will host Mishawaka Marian at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while South Bend St. Joseph will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
