Hampshire hasn't had much luck against Washington recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Trojans will take on the Patriots at 7:00 p.m. Hampshire will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.
Hampshire is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 15-5 margin over Lewis County on Saturday. The Trojans not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 5th (when they won 13-2).

The team relied heavily on Channing Wilt, who went 3-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Hampshire is 2-1 when Wilt posts three or more hits, but 6-11 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon Whitacre, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.
Hampshire always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Washington made easy work of Berkeley Springs on Saturday and carried off an 11-1 victory. The Patriots haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.
Marshall Derrick and Connor Smith did most of the damage at the plate: Derrick went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Smith went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave Derrick a new career-high. Brayden Edwards was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Washington pushed their record up to 13-8-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Hampshire, their record is now 8-12.
Hampshire couldn't quite finish off Washington when the teams last played back in May of 2024 and fell 2-0. Can the Trojans avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
