1A District 4 recap Nov. 7, 2012
Liberty County extended the longest winning streak in 1A District 4 this week by beating Port St. Joe, 26-25. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Liberty County and the Sharks played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Liberty County eventually emerging with a 26-25 victory. Dustin Watson threw for 151 yards and one touchdown and ran for seven yards in the win.
Grant Grantham's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Alex Marlowe chipped in 97 yards. Hayden Swier helped Liberty County's passing attack out by catching one ball for 45 yards.
Micheal Robinson was the best wideout in the league this week as the Bulldogs bested Port St. Joe. Robinson racked up five receptions for 78 yards.
Blountstown's Hunter Jordan and Ryan Hathcox have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 1A District 4 in both passing and receiving yards. Jordan has thrown for 636 yards this season, while Hathcox, a 5-foot-11 receiver, has 13 catches for 252 yards. Chuck Gannon's team's Jarkice Davis leads the league in rushing yards with 670.
