It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Leto Falcons ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They escaped with a win against King by the margin of a single free throw, 39-38. The victory was just what Leto needed coming off of a 63-25 loss in their prior matchup.
Leading Leto to victory were De'Layla Brass and Lizbeth Rivera. Brass dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds, while Rivera scored 20 points along with six steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Rivera has scored at least 25% of Leto's points.
Leto's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-4. As for King, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Leto will face off against Sickles at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Sickles focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Saturday. King's road trip will continue as they head out to face Tampa Bay Tech at 8:00 p.m. on December 12th. Hopefully Tampa Bay Tech focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Friday.
