The Evansville Memorial Tigers waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with eight straight wins but they left with nine. They enjoyed a cozy 57-42 victory over Evansville Reitz. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Evansville Memorial also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Sophie Johnson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with eight rebounds and three blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Myla Browning, who scored 14 points along with six assists and six rebounds.
Despite the loss, Evansville Reitz still got an impressive performance from Kaelyse Mitchell, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds. Mitchell hasn't dropped below two blocks for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Bailey Hape, who scored ten points.
Evansville Memorial's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-3. As for Evansville Reitz, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-5.
