Ayala hasn't had much luck against Bonita recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Bulldogs will host the Bearcats at 5:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
On Wednesday, Ayala didn't have quite enough to beat Claremont and fell 3-2. While the Bulldogs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Wolfpack 25-21 in the first set.
Ayala took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 21-25, 25-18, 21-25, 25-13, 16-14.

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Miki Kiuchi, who had 39 assists and ten digs. She has been hot, having posted 16 or more assists the last five times she's played. Angelina Mercado was another key player, getting 18 kills and five digs.
Meanwhile, Bonita came up short against Glendora on Wednesday and fell 3-1. The Bearcats haven't had much luck with the Tartans recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.
The final score came out to 25-19, 23-25, 25-11, 25-18.
Ayala will have to keep a close watch on Cassidy Howard and Shyanne McCutcheon, a pair of players who had a big impact on Bonita's prior game. Howard had 19 assists and 12 digs, while McCutcheon had 16 digs and one assist.
Ayala's loss dropped their record down to 12-11. As for Bonita, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.
