Mikayla McJilton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and three unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Shiloh Wall was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Lyric Strong, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Patterson Mill didn't have quite enough to beat John Carroll on Monday and fell 7-5. The match marked Patterson Mill's lowest-scoring game so far this season.
Savannah Reedy made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4. Mackenzie Knight was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.
Having lost for the first time this season, Patterson Mill fell to 4-1. As for Harford Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Harford Tech has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .436. However, it's not like Patterson Mill struggles in that department as they've averaged .447. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
