Alchesay hasn't had much luck against Snowflake recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Falcons will head out on the road to square off against the Lobos at 3:30 p.m. Alchesay is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
Last Monday, Alchesay was able to grind out a solid victory over Miami, taking the game 9-5.
Japeth Henry was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2024. Brett Cosay also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Snowflake, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They skirted past Show Low 8-7.
Curtis Hollom looked comfortable as he tossed 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Skip Bawden, who scored a run while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Xavier Reidhead, who scored three runs while going 3-for-4.
Snowflake's win was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-6. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 10.1 runs. As for Alchesay, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Alchesay has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Snowflake struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Alchesay suffered a grim 18-4 defeat to Snowflake in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
